Terms of service

Last updated: September 9, 2026

These terms are the agreement between you and Cora Mae Pearl LLC when you use coramaepearl.com and buy from us. They're arranged in three parts: what we owe you, what you owe us, and the rules that apply to both of us. Placing an order means you accept them, together with our Shipping Policy, Return & Refund Policy, Payment Policy and Privacy Policy, which are part of these terms; where a summary here differs from one of those policies, the policy governs.

If anything is unclear, email support@coramaepearl.com and we'll explain it in plain language.

Part 1: What we owe you

1. An honest description

We describe every piece by what its specification says: base metal, plating type and thickness where stated, post material for earrings, clasp type, how stones are set, dimensions, chain length, weight and care. We don't call a piece "solid gold," "sterling silver," "genuine pearl" or "natural stone" unless it is, and we don't describe any piece as hypoallergenic or suitable for sensitive skin; we give you the composition and leave that judgment to you. Colors may vary slightly between screens, and dimensions are approximate unless stated as exact. If we discover an error in a description or price after you've ordered, we'll tell you and you can proceed or cancel for a full refund.

2. A price that's the whole price

Prices are in US dollars. Sales tax, where it applies, is calculated from your shipping address at checkout and shown before you confirm. Shipping is free. If your order ships from a fulfillment center outside the United States, all customs duties and import fees are paid by us; nothing is collected on delivery. The price that applies is the one shown when you order and in your confirmation email; later changes don't affect confirmed orders. Obvious pricing errors, such as a missing digit, aren't binding on us; if one affects your order, we'll contact you and you can buy at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.

3. Delivery, and responsibility until it arrives

Processing and transit times are in our Shipping Policy. They're estimates based on normal operations; carrier delays, weather and customs processing are outside our control, though we'll help trace anything late. Risk of loss passes to you when the package is delivered to the address you gave us, not before. If it arrives damaged, or doesn't arrive, we take it up with the carrier. If we can't ship within the stated timeframe, or within 30 days of your order where none was stated, we'll notify you and you can wait or cancel for a full refund, as the FTC Mail Order Rule requires. If a package comes back because the address you gave was wrong or incomplete, you choose reshipment or a full refund.

4. Thirty days to change your mind

Our Return & Refund Policy governs. In brief: 30 days from delivery, for any reason, sale items included; pieces unworn beyond trying on, complete with box, pouch and tags; no restocking fee; return shipping for a change-of-mind return paid by you, and for a defective, damaged or wrong piece paid by us with a prepaid label; refunds within 5 business days of our receiving the return, to your original payment method; the return address provided when you start a return and never our business address. Pierced earrings can be returned only unworn in their original packaging; personalized and engraved pieces and gift cards can't be returned, and this is stated on the product page before you buy. You can cancel free of charge at any time before your order ships.

5. A fix when the fault is ours

If a piece arrives with a defect, is damaged in transit, or isn't what you ordered, contact us within 30 days of delivery with your order number and photos. You choose a replacement or a full refund, and we cover any return shipping. Beyond that, everything we sell comes with the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for ordinary purpose that Illinois law and the law of your state provide. These terms don't take them away; Part 3 explains what we do and don't limit.

6. An answer from a person

Every email is read by a member of our team and answered within one business day. When you ask about a size, a length or a material, we answer from the piece's specification.

Part 2: What you owe us

7. Accurate details, and an adult placing the order

You must be 18 or older to place an order yourself; if you're younger, a parent or legal guardian places it for you. The shipping and contact details you give at checkout must be accurate and current. If you create an account, keep your password private and tell us right away if you think someone else has used it; what happens under your account is your responsibility.

8. Personal use

Our pieces are sold for personal use. We may decline or limit orders that appear to be for resale, including repeated orders to the same address or on the same card.

9. Payment you're entitled to make

You pay when you place the order, using any method shown at checkout; they're listed in our Payment Policy. Card details go directly to a PCI DSS-certified processor and never touch our systems; we don't store full card numbers and will never ask for them by email. By paying, you confirm you're entitled to use that method. If a payment is declined or reversed, we may cancel the order.

10. Honest reviews, and content that's yours

If you submit a review, photo, suggestion or other content, you keep ownership but grant us a royalty-free, non-exclusive, perpetual right to use, edit, translate and publish it in any channel for our business purposes. You confirm the content is yours, reflects your own genuine experience, discloses any incentive you received, and doesn't infringe anyone's rights or contain anything unlawful, offensive or malicious. Don't use a false email address or pose as someone else. We may decline to publish or remove content that doesn't meet these conditions, and we aren't obliged to keep submissions confidential or pay for them.

11. Lawful use of the site

Use the site only for lawful purposes. You may not use it to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, submit false information, spread malicious code, collect other people's personal information, send spam, phish, scrape or crawl without permission, or interfere with the site's security. Automated tools acting on someone's behalf may use the site only if they identify themselves as automated and don't bypass technical safeguards. If you materially breach these terms, we may suspend or end your access; orders already accepted will still be fulfilled.

12. Costs you cause

If your breach of these terms or of the law, or your infringement of a third party's rights, results in a claim against Cora Mae Pearl LLC, you agree to cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it, including reasonable attorneys' fees. We'll notify you of any such claim and give you a chance to respond before settling.

Part 3: Rules that apply to both of us

13. When the order becomes a contract

Listing a piece on the site is an invitation to order, not a binding offer. When you complete checkout, you make an offer to buy. The automatic email you receive afterward confirms that we've received your order; it isn't an acceptance. The contract is formed when we send you the shipping confirmation. Until then we may decline an order if the piece is out of stock, payment can't be authorized, a price or description was obviously wrong, the address is incomplete, or we have reason to suspect fraud. If we've charged you, we refund the full amount.

14. Promotions

Discount codes are entered at checkout and can't be applied afterward. One code per order unless the promotion says otherwise; codes have no cash value. Promotions run for the period and on the terms stated with them. If you return a piece bought at a discount, we refund what you actually paid, and sale pieces return on the same terms as anything else.

15. Our content

The Cora Mae Pearl name, logo, site design, product photography, graphics and text belong to Cora Mae Pearl LLC or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may browse and shop; copying, republishing, selling or commercial use of any content requires our written permission.

16. Other people's sites, and ours going down

The site may link to websites and services run by others. We don't control them and aren't responsible for their content, security or practices; complaints about a third party's products or services go to that party. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time and can't guarantee uninterrupted availability. Nothing in this section affects an order we've already accepted.

17. Privacy

How we handle your personal information, including what Shopify processes as our platform provider and your rights under Illinois law and the law of your state, is set out in our Privacy Policy.

18. Limits on liability

We don't guarantee that the site will always be available or free of errors, and the site itself is provided "as is." Our total liability in connection with an order is limited to the amount you paid for it, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or special loss, such as lost profits or lost data.

These limits don't apply to fraud, to personal injury caused by our negligence, to the implied warranties described in section 5, or to any liability that can't be excluded by law. Some states don't allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms reduces your rights under the consumer protection laws of Illinois, including the Illinois Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act, of your own state, or of the United States.

19. Changes, assignment and severability

We may update these terms when the store or the law changes. The current version is always on this page with the date at the top, and changes don't apply to orders placed before they were published. We may assign our rights and obligations to another company provided your rights aren't reduced; you may not assign yours without our consent. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest remain in force, and not enforcing a provision once doesn't waive it. These terms and the policies they reference are the entire agreement between you and Cora Mae Pearl LLC.

20. Disputes

Contact us first; nearly every issue is settled by email, and we'd much rather resolve it directly than have you dispute a charge with your bank. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that can't be resolved by email will be heard in the state or federal courts located in DuPage County, Illinois. That doesn't prevent you from bringing a claim in the small claims court where you live, or from relying on the consumer protection laws of your own state.
